A customer from South-Estonia shared a great photo and a story of how, after two years of searching, she found a full set of storage jars in our shop. When I shared this photo on our social media, the first assumption was that the kitchen cabinet was made from our jars. In fact, the kitchen furniture was already finished and in use, but they just hadn’t found the right storage jars. The customer was particularly pleased when he finally got his storage cupboards tidied up.
What makes this story so special is how we came up with such a set of preserving jars with a client. Our handmade jars of garlic, onions and potatoes, handmade in India, appealed to the customer first. From there, I wanted to have somewhere to put the drying products and as you can see from the picture, the hostess has a lot of them. As a result of our search, we came up with the brand Rosendahl, which we didn’t have in our shop at the time. Once we got the quantities and sizes of the jars right, the whole set seemed very harmonious and precise. That’s why I got the impression that the furniture was made from cans. Thanks to our customer, we now have both the brand Rosendahl and the entire group of brands belonging to their group in our shop: Kay Bojesen, Kähler, Rosendahl, Holmegaard, Lyngby Porcelæn, Arne Jacobsen Clocks, Bjørn Wiinblad and JUNA.
If any of these brands catch your eye, feel free to let us know and we can order them for you! In addition to preserving jars, we have a number of their products available in our Kalaranna store and e-shop. They can be found here: Rosendahl Design Group
I was inspired by the customer’s picture and started to reorganise my cupboards. I have been using an onion preserving jar for almost a year now. Pretty nice when the drawer where I store the onions isn’t full of flying onion skins. The holes at the bottom of the jar are very handy, as the onions keep longer. My next plan is to tackle dry storage. The bottom of the drawer where I currently keep the dry goods is constantly full of flour and the like. Unfortunately, paper packets do not hold flour well. In my previous home, a mealie got into the cupboard once, which meant that all the dry goods had to be thrown away. Tightly sealed preserving jars are also a very good solution for pest prevention. So let’s tidy up the cupboards for the holidays! 🙂
